Borealis
With a logo inspired by the Northern Pacific Railroad line that occupied these grounds decades before, Borealis pays homage to the history of the neighborhood with classic, timeless design
Borealis ("of the north") is a modernly elegant North Loop building wrapped in urbane historic brick. The building hugs the perimeter of the subterranean historic Bassett Creek Tunnel and is an engineering victory. The commercial garage that does double duty serving neighboring buildings is lined by gracious live+work units. A stunning sky lounge on the top floor leads to a rooftop deck lined with an herb garden, trellised dining area, and firepits with easy seating and a front row view of the city. Artwork from JXTA fills the airy common spaces. Borealis is a gem "of the north." Downtown Greening Award 2018.
